95 Safari 3550 fuses

Post by oldcobia »

My motorhome keeps blowing the 25 amp fuse on top fuse panel under hood. Manual shows it as fan relay. Any idea which fan it is? All seems to work ok

My coach is still in storage, so I can't confirm it, but it probably your condenser fan that might be seized up or relay shorted out. If it is the fuse for the a/c condenser fan, and your dash a/c functions, I would suggest to disconnect the a/c compressor to prevent is form running w/o the fan, as this would build high head pressure on the compressor. On my coach the a/c compressor kicks on in any position except heat/floor and off positions. Being that we have the same year coaches, yours might be similar, causing the compressor to stay running in modes that it normally should not be.
Also, the fuse panel lids usually have labels on them, show what function each fuse performs.

It is condenser fan. Two choices for replacement. One draws 11 amps other draws 18.5. Original fuse is 25 amp. Leaning towards higher draw fan. 300 CFM more flow. Any advice? Thanks

I would go with the higher cfm fan.

Here is the outfit that carries most parts needed for our coach dash a/c systems. I would give him a call, he is very knowledgeable.

Update on blown fuse. Replaced condenser fan with flex a lite model 391. Worked great except fan is used as a pusher fan and blades flex enough that some would hit housing. Was going to send back but just decided to fix it. Trimmed off all corners to get rid of interference. All good. Now on to next project. Getting cruise control to operate.
