Looking at new theater recliner couch

Post by chuckster »

Hi folks!

My wife and I think it’s time to replace the original sleeper sofa in our ‘01 Zanzibar with a 72” dual recliner with drink holder in the middle. We have the “interesting” side entry door that zigs up at an angle.

Firstly, I “assume” that the old one comes out in pieces in order for its removal and that the same can be said for the new one to go into the rig in pieces and then assembled if it is made for an RV.

Secondly, I would like to hear from any members who would like to comment on any brands to steer clear of and any brands that are quality.

Stay well,

No personal experience but I've read some posts where folks found that removing a window was preferable to wrangling furniture through the doorway.

Trying to get the jackknife couch out of front door entry would have been a challenge. Enter one Sawzall! We purchased a powered dual leather recliner that came in two separate sections. My wife and I managed to "Squeeze" the soft leather chair though the front door without removing the passenger seat. Since we opted to install the recliner on the opposite side (behind pass seat) there's no way a duel recliner with center console would have fit. Hers the new LR area.

BEAUTIFUL! Well done. I am envious. I am going to do something soon. No jackknife when we do this...no guests! *wink*

We just finished this project a couple of weeks ago. Replaced the couch a dual recliner and also replaced the table and chairs with a dinette.
Bought on Amazon, RecPro Charles 70" Powered Double RV Wall Hugger Recliner Sofa. Went for a trip last weekend. Super comfortable.

Installed the recliner on the slide out, had to add a 2x4 with caster to support the front

Doug,

It looks very nice! What color did you go with..I like it. Also, what brand dinette and how long are the dinette booths? Was it expensive to lay down wood flooring? Did you go with an engineered wood or real wood?
